What you’re actually seeing is Serato Video integrating itself in the main Serato interface, and as someone who’s not used it before, this is what I liked so much about it: For all the extended features that you get out of it, it’s still an app with a tiny footprint that hardly changes your workflow, a comfort for long-time Serato users who may be thinking about dipping into video DJing. And while there seem to be a lot of boxes all of a sudden, it’s easy to find your way pretty soon… Once done, you exit the setup menu and click on the “Video” button at the top of the screen, and voila: The Serato Video interface is added mid-screen. As Serato Video is an option, it’s necessary to enable it in the setup menu where you enter an activation key that you’ve purchased from Serato’s website. First thing is that it’s necessary to be running the latest version of Serato DJ: Serato DJ 1.6.1 comes with the update to Serato Video and this is absolutely essential.
